Spotlight on Excellence: Lawrence and Jessica Shine at the 2025 Undergraduate Conference

This year’s Undergraduate Conference on Research, Scholarship, and the Arts began with a standout moment: Lawrence and Jessica presenting their respective research in beautifully designed and intellectually engaging posters. Their work drew well-deserved attention for its depth, clarity, and the professionalism with which they presented it. They were poised, passionate, and incredibly impressive — a true reflection of the academic excellence we strive to cultivate at CSI.

Now in its 24th year, the annual conference has become one of the defining events of the spring semester. It offers students like Lawrence and Jessica a valuable platform to share their scholarly and creative work with peers, faculty, and the broader campus community. Their presentation not only demonstrated the strength of their research but also highlighted the meaningful faculty-student partnerships that are central to CSI’s educational mission.

The conference is more than a showcase; it’s a celebration. A celebration of curiosity, critical thinking, and the transformative power of academic inquiry. It brings together students from across all disciplines — each sharing unique perspectives and insights, each contributing to a dynamic exchange of ideas.

Their success reminds us of the incredible talent that exists within our undergraduate community — and of the importance of supporting and elevating that work.

To all who attended, presented, or mentored: thank you for making the 2025 Undergraduate Conference a success. We are proud of what our students accomplish and look forward to seeing their continued growth and impact.
